This thread is 4 all those who don't know enough abt reputations

reputations r given to a member when u like or dislike his or her work

the reputation score shows the popularity of the member in the forum

it's given by clicking http://www.shayri.com/forums/images/...reputation.gif it's position is on the right top side of post.

If you think that someone has made a helpful post , you can add to that persons reputation points by clicking on scales icon in the post (see below)
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...eputation1.jpg

Once the next Screen is open click the relevant box I approve / I disapprove (negative feedback) See below

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...tion3final.jpg

Next type a quick message in the box so that the user can see what he/she has received Reputation Points for.
Then click on the
add to reputation

sometimes u can't give a reputation 2 a specific member and u will get this box

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i182/Mayank1/reps.jpg
this means u need to give reps to some other members b4 giving it to him/her again

Finally to check your reputation points and see comments left by other users, open the user control tab, shown below

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...ionpoints1.jpg

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...k1/dheeraj.jpg

the box http://www.shayri.com/forums/images/...tation_pos.gif indicates the reputation score to others, now dheer have have 6 boxes. one box means less then 100 points. 2box means above 100, 3box means above 200 and 4 box means above 300, five box means above 400 six box means above 600 and so on.

u may contact me 4 any info.

Reputations FAQs

1. What is reputation system?

Reputation points are the points awarded to you by other members for your good posts, or taken from you for meaningless/spam posts. New registered users start with 10 reputation points.

2. Why do you need this system?

It is hard to trust anyone's opinion when you are new member who doesn't know anyone on the forums. Reputation system was created to identify members, which other members chose to trust or like. this is just like ranking system.

3. What happens when my reputation is 0?

You are automatically banned.

4. Does my reputation level influence points?

Yes. You will stop receiving points if your reputation is lower than 10. This was created to allow members to fight spammers. One bad reputation and a user will not receive points for posting.

5. Where can I see my reputation level?

Find two red arrows. No.1 is pointing on user's current reputation level. No.2 is pointing on the button, which lets you give or remove reputation from that user:

6. Who can use give or remove reputation points?

Members who have more the 50 posts can give or take reputation points to members. member having less the 50 posts can give reputation to any one, but, their hits are valueless, means no points to add or subtract.

7. How can I add/remove reputation to/from someone?

In every post you can see reputation image: . Click on it for the member whom you want to reward. This popups a new window in the top corner of your screen. On this window, you will find a radio button saying "I approve" or "I disapprove". If you want to award the member with points then select the first option. Select the second option if you want to remove points from that member. It is highly recommended that you leave short comments for the member in the space provided. It will help that member know if what he/she did was good or bad.

9. How many members can I give reputation to?

There is a limit of 10 reputation ratings per 24 hours.

10. Where can I see who and where gave me a reputation?

http://www.shayri.com/forums/usercp.php scroll down to find the last 5 reputations given to you.

11. Can I give reputation twice to the same user?

You can, but not consequently. You have to give reputation to others before you can give reputation again to the same member.

12. How your “reputation giving power” is calculated

* Everyone joining as a registered member with our forum receives a default 10 points of reputation.
* For every 365 days, you gain 1 point of reputation-altering power (eg, if you had the power to give ‘2’ points per post, it goes to ‘3’).
* For every 1000 posts, you gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
* For every 100 points of reputation, you gain 1 reputation-altering power.
* You must have a minimum of 50 posts before your ‘reputation power’ kicks in - up until then, you can rep someone but it will appear grey to them and add zero points. This is stop ‘neg rep spamming’ by a new member. When it does, your default power is 2 points per reputation given.
* You can only give out reputation points to 10 people in 24hrs.
* You have to give reputation to 20 different people before you can ‘rep’ the same person again.
* You can only give reputation once to a person in a thread. (ie you cannot ‘rep’ someone twice for the same post).

13. Reputation Level Changes and reputation “Statement”

To find what “statement” is attached to a member, hover your mouse over their reputation bar (under their avatar) where the little green square is. One of the following statements will appear. The number next to it is the minimum amount of reputation the person has gain in order to have that statement.

* User “is an unknown quantity at this point” 0
* User “is on a distinguished road” 10
* User “will become famous soon enough” 50
* User “has a spectacular aura about” 150
* User “is a jewel in the rough” 250
* User “is just really nice” 350
* User “is a glorious beacon of light” 450
* User “is a name known to all” 550
* User “is a splendid one to behold” 650
* User “has much to be proud of” 1000
* User “has a brilliant future” 1500
* User “has a reputation beyond repute” 2000

14.how to see reputation list of members

If you would like to see the reputation ‘list’, go to “Members” and click on “Reputation” to view the member list by reputation points.

15. When should I add or remove reputation to/from other members?

We recommend awarding members with reputation points when they post informative posts , help others and help make this community become a better place.

You should remove points when user posts irrelevant information that does not help anyone, or when his/her post doesn't match thread's discussion.

Do not add/remove points just because you don't agree with a member's opinion, points of view or anything else that isn't concerened with the quality of his/her post.

The reputation system exists for the sole purpose of enhancing the quality of posts by rewarding quality posters and punishing spam and other useless, irrelevant posts. These are the only reasons reputation points should be given or taken away.

Swapping reputation points is not allowed (give me one, and I'll give you one). Rewarding or punishing someone for a successful (or unsuccessful) exchange or other activity that is not related to the quality of a user's messages is not allowed. Failure to follow these rules will result only in an infraction or loss of rep (by a moderator). Banning will not be allowed solely for reputation giving or taking violations, unless a user defies explicit warnings from a Moderator or Admin.

These rules will be updated and changed at any given time without prior notice. It is your responsibility to check these rules once in a while to make sure you are not violating them.
