Naresh ji
Namaste

aap ke salwaaon ke jawab hazir hai janab...sorry for taking so much time

Fiji bahot chota sa group of islands hai South Pacific mein. Kuch facts and figures likh rahi hun:

Geography: Fiji consists of 332 islands in the southwest Pacific Ocean about 1,960 mi (3,152 km) from Sydney, Australia. About 110 of these islands are inhabited. The two largest are Viti Levu (4,109 sq mi; 10,642 sq km) and Vanua Levu (2,242 sq mi; 5,807 sq km).

Government: Republic

President: Ratu Epeli Nailatikau

Prime Minister: Frank Bainimarama

Total area: 7,054 sq mi (18,270 sq km)

Population (2010 est.): 957,780

Capital and largest city (2003 est.): Suva (on Viti Levu), 177,300

Monetary unit: Fiji dollar (1Fiji dollar = 26.2 Indian rupees approximately)

Languages: English (official), Fijian, Hindustani

Ethnicity/race: Fijian 51%, Indian 44%, European, other Pacific Islanders, overseas Chinese, and other 5% (1998)

Religions: Christian 52% (Methodist 37%, Roman Catholic 9%), Hindu 38%, Islam 8%, other 2%

Rahan sahan
Yaha ka rahan sahan simple hai…jaisa ki har desh mein hota hai…urban areas mein concrete buildings, rural areas mein bure houses for Fijian aur Indians corrugated iron ka ghar hote the pahele aura b concrete houses bhi nazar aate hain.

Khaan paan
Khaan paan alag alag hoti thi pahele…Indians, zyada tar Indian dishes jaise roti aur curry, dhal, rice, chutney, achaar etc etc, Fijians, traditional Fijian food jaise, boiled fish, root crops (taro, yams, cassava, etc), lovo (steamed meat and root crops), aur bhi kayi tarah ke Fijian dishes khate the. Par ab Fijian gharon mein bhi roti banti hai aur Indians bhi lovo ka maza uthate hai…Chinese dishes dono race khate hain. Yaha restaurants mein Indian, Chinese, Thai, Fijian, aur Korean cuisine milti hai.

Seeksha
Fiji mein hum zyada tar Australian curriculum ke hisaab se apna curriculum prepare karte hai. Australian text books bhi zyada use karte hai. Fiji mein 3 universities hai jo Australia aur New Zealand mein recognized hai. Most population migrate to Australia and New Zealand.
Main jis school mein teach karti hun wo international school hai. Hum local curriculum nahi follow karte. We teach International Baccalaureate (IB). We are one of the two schools in Fiji teaching IB and this curriculum is recognized in around 100 countries and 1000 universities recognize the IB diploma.

Sanskritii
Fijians apni Sanskritii aaj bhi follow karte hai…jaise sevu sevu (yaqona presentation)… Indians bhi kuch hadh follow karte hai jaise marriage rituals etc but not in the pure form. Ab sab kuch suvidha ke hisaab se ho gaya hai…jo suit karta ho wahi hota hai.
Western influence bhi kuch zyada hai…dressing, eating, living styles sab change ho gaya hai.

Bhaashaa
Official language toh English hai
Fijian aur hindi (broken) hum ghar par use karte hain…Chinese aur French log apni apni language bhi use karte hai.

Mausam
May to November - this is the 'winter' season, and though still deliciously warm and tropical, it is not as humid as the hotter, wetter summer months of December to April. Fiji is beautiful all year round - it's just that there is more chance for some tropical rains during summer. But it is the tropical rains that make Fiji such a beautiful paradise!

Baazaar
Fiji mein abhi haal hi mein (within last 10 years) kuch malls banaye gaye hain…warna sirf chote chote shops hi the. Yaha zyada samaan Taiwan, China, Australia, New Zealand se hi aate hain. Fiji tourism ke liye famous hai so focus is mostly on duty free shops. Kahene ko toh yaha sab kuch milta hai par at a cost that not everybody can afford.

SaDhke
Hmmm…sadhke bachi kaha hai…bas pot holes hi pot holes hai…mostly because of flooding in some areas and lack of repairs and maintenance in others. Nadi (where I live) mein toh kitne roads par repair works ho raha hai par samajh nahi aata kab khatam hoga…kuch kuch jagha raaste bade achche bhai hai jaise Sigatoka…neighbouring town to Nadi.

Yaataayaat Ke SaadhaN
Aaj kal toh har ghare do teen vehicles hoti hai. Kuch log aaj bhi public transport (buses) use karte hai…ye cities mein hoti hai especially jaha log kahi aur se aa kar rent karte hai naukri ke liye. Fiji mein bas ek hi international airport hai…jo Nadi mein hai. Do bade wharfs hai jaha import export ke ships aate hain.

Khaas Khaas Shahar Aur Ghoomne Phirne Ki JaghaayeN
Main sirf main islands par focus karungi…Fiji has two main islands…Viti Levu jaha Suva (Capital), Lautoka, Nadi, Sigatoka, Ba, Nauva, Tavua aur Rakiraki towns hai, Vanua Leva jaha Labasa aur Savusavu towns hai. Fiji mein sirf do cities hai Suva aur Lautoka.
Ghoome ke liye toh bahot saare jaghaayen hain…Fiji tourism ke liye mashhur hai…main abhi last week hi Rakiraki gayi thi…waha ek mountain mein ek steep waterfall hai jo ek heart shaped pool tak jata hai…ussay “Pool of Love” naam diya gaya hai…pani bahot hi thanda hai waha par wo jagha ghoomne ke liye bahot hi khubsurat hai (you can see some photos on FB)…Labasa mein ek floating island hai jo ek lake ke is paar se us paar float hota hai…Nadi mein garden of the sleeping gaint hai jo ek mountain top par hai aur ye mountain ka shape dekhne mein lagta hai ki koi gaint so raha hai…Sigatoka mein sand dunes hai jo naturally form hua hai…Savusavu mein hot water springs hai…aisi aur bhi bahot achchi jaghaayen hai jaha ghoma ja sakta hai.
