Patthar ke jigar vaalon Gham mein vo ravaani hai*
Khud raah banaa legaa bahtaa huaa paanii hai*

PhuloN mein Gazal rakhnaa ye raat ki rani hai*
Is mein terii zulfon kii be-rabt kahaanii hai*

Ek zahan-e-parenshaan mein vo phuul saa chehraa hai*
Patthar kii hifaazat mein shiishe kii javaanii hai*

Kyon chaandnii raaton mein dariyaa pe nahaate ho*
Soye hue paanii mein kyaa aag lagaanii hai*

Is hausalaa-e-dil par ham ne bhii kafan pahnaa*
Hans kar koii puuchhegaa kyaa jaan gavaanii hai*

Rone kaa asar dil par rah rah ke badalataa hai*
Aansuu kabhii shiishaa hai aansuu kabhii paanii hai*

Ye shabnamii lahjaa hai aahistaa Gazal padhanaa*
Titlii kii kahaanii hai phuulon kii zabaanii hai
