In the chill of night I stand and gaze
My boughs bare sway in haze
The last fallen leaf still at my bole
Lies curled sighs at Fate’s scroll
The days are gone when I was clad
My splendor green and spring’s fad
When birds’ songs filled my heart
With pleasure deep tunes of all sort
Straw by straw they built their nests
In my leafy lap stayed blessed
My leaves kissed by gentle breeze
And washed by waters of heavenly streams
When sun showered his rays of gold
I was crowning beauty of the forest old

Then came in autumn stealthily down
My green charm lost ripped off my crown
Ruined choirs that late birds sang
On sprays and twigs where blossoms hang
Now I stand stretching my leafless arms
Longing for springtime all lost charms
For dainty boughs bursting in blooms
Wails piteous for wind-blown leaves’ doom

Not mine is the grace of an evergreen
With her proud crest a forest queen
In me you see the twilight of such day
Which is slowly by night taken away
Yet I let not melancholy devour me
I wait patiently for spring’s lively spree
My heart be pierced by rapturous songs
Leaves’ flutter delight of flowery whorls
Emerald branches waving to wooing skies
In mystic sheen a kingly sight!

Aadaab Yasmeen Saheba,
Last winter.... when I did walk across a few trees(I have very soft corner for trees, their beauty)..... felt a burst of feelings/emotions/thoughts.....thought of taking a few snaps of them...like before...your poem has now rendered them useless!! Thanks for your detailed insight/observation and capturing and conveying them into words!!

Thanks for sharing with us!!
