ham ko mitaa sake ye zamaane meiN dam nahiiN
ham se zamaana khud hai zamaane se ham nahiiN

be'faayada alam nahiiN, bekaar Gham nahiiN
taufeeq de Khuda to ye ne'mat bhi kam nahiiN

meri zubaaN pe shikwa-e-ahl-e-sitam nahiiN
mujh ko jaga diya yahi ehsaan kam nahiiN

ya rab! hujuum-e-dard ko de aur vus'ateN
daaman to kya abhi meri aaNkheN bhi nam nahiiN

zaahid kuch aur ho na ho maikhaane meiN magar
kya kam ye hai ki shikwa-e-dair-o-haram nahiiN

shikwaa to ek chheD hai lekin haqeeqatan
teraa sitam bhii terii inaayat se kam nahiiN

marg-e-"Jigar" pe kyuN teri aaNkheN hai ashk'rez
ik saanihaa sahi magar itni ahm nahiiN
