Kuch is terha guzarti ab, humaari har shaam hai,
Ek haath tasveer unki to, aik haath jaam hai!

Bekaar hai yaad dilana ,k shaye ye haraam hai,
Sab kuch bhool jaate hain ,jab koi leta unka naam hai!

Hum to yehi kahenge, Mai be-wajah badnaam hai,
Dard-e-dil se humko to , pahunchaati ye araam hai!

Tabaah kerti hai sharaab, ghalat is per ilzaam hai,
Madadgaar ka badnaam hona to, qudrat ka nizaam hai!

Hum ghamkhaaron ka mai ko, Tah-e-dil se salaam hai,
Bina iske to khudaa jaane, kya humara anjaam hai!

bari muddadon baad yahan se guzarna hua janab apka kallam nihyaat tareef-e-qabil hai is nacheez ki daad kabool farmaiye bahut khoob likha hai apne.. haar sher main dard bayan kia hai janab likhte rahega....

Well You are right, from one perspective both are one and the same. But,.. for some(including mine).... its different. In many a case both have proven to be leading to deadly results. I believe its a case of

"Manzil ki kise perwaah jab, safar hi itna suhana hai,
Buraai kya do ghont peene mein, maut ne to sabhi ko aana hai!"

As you may, see its the "Nasha", "khumaar" of 'Mai' in the above shair ,
The feeling of "forgetting everything(especially pain and all the ugliness, bitterness that exists)" after consuming Alchohol. But Mohtrma, Ishq ka nasha depending on your Naseeb may result in a pleasant ending and in any case most of the times the Khumaar and Nasha of Ishq is in the pursuit of Husn, Beauty and I believe its The better of the two Nasha's.

So Mohtarma, the above are my reasons or perspectives on why one may say Husn aur Mai not being the same. But again... its my view. And everyone is entitled to hold their own view. And one last thing... hats off for your hazir jawaab Ashaar above. Keep it up and thanks for dropping by.

Apologies for the late reply! Yes both are different in 'My' humble opinion. But that is mine not anyone else's so there shouldn't be 'Any' controversy as my opinion shouldn't matter to anyone else. And No, the ending is different but the experience of the journey is same I meant there.

Ek haath tasveer unki to, aik haath jaam hai!

Bekaar hai yaad dilana ,k shaye ye haraam hai,
Sab kuch bhool jaate hain ,jab koi leta unka naam hai!

Hum to yehi kahenge, Mai be-wajah badnaam hai,
Dard-e-dil se humko to , pahunchaati ye araam hai!

Tabaah kerti hai sharaab, ghalat is per ilzaam hai,
Madadgaar ka badnaam hona to, qudrat ka nizaam hai!

Hum ghamkhaaron ka mai ko, Tah-e-dil se salaam hai,
Bina iske to khudaa jaane, kya humara anjaam hai!

Kya khoob likhaa hai aapne...! Har sher tareef-e-kaabil hai, tah-e-dil se daad qabool kareiN...!
