Saamnay hai jo usay log bura kehtay hain,
Jisko dekha hi nahin usko khuda kehtay hain !

[Who is in front of one's eyes, people say bad things about him,
And whom nobody has ever seen, they call him God !]

zindagii ko bhi silaa kahate hain kahanevaale
jinevaale to gunaahon ki sazaa kahate hain

Faasiley umar kay kuch aur bada deti hai,
Jaaney kyon log usey phir bhi dava kehtay hain !

[It extends the gaps in life,
For whatever reason people still call it the medicine !]

Chand masoom say patton ka lahoo hai `Fakir',
Jisko mahboob kay hathon ki heena kehtay hain !

[It is the blood of some innocent leaves, 'Fakir',
Whom they call it the Henna (Mehandi) of beloved's hands !]
