The City.

This is another one of my original poems..

THE CITY

Tonight, I look at the city,
Alight with it’s star filled sky.
The streets are sounding clear,
With echoes of laughter gone by.
I move on, unnoticed,
By those traders of joy,
For I have nothing to pay,
For their petty toy.
They see through me,
As if I am non-existent.
To them I am worthless,
Better off, at a distance.
Now I, move into an alley,
So dark and full of shadows.
I find here a selfish child,
Unwilling to share his sorrows.
I look into his pale eyes,
Wonder if ever they were bright,
I pass him too, he is non-existent,
And disappear into the night.

Interesting.I remember reading poems about cities.For some ppl its the greatest thing,for others its a place where they do not belong.Very nice poem.
